Colchani Bolivia

Colchani is a small town within the Municipality of Uyuni in the Antonio Quijarro province, located in the Potosí Department of Bolivia. It is situated 20 km from the city of Uyuni along the road that links this town with Oruro, at an elevation of 3,674 meters above sea level. The town of Colchani is geographically bordered by: The community of Pampa Grande to the north The community of Chacala, municipality of Uyuni, to the east The city of Uyuni to the south The Salar de Uyuni to the west Colchani serves as the gateway to the Uyuni salt flat and is home to a salt museum that attracts many tourists. The town itself has 2 very basic accommodations with limited sanitary facilities. However, there are several hotels located along the shores of the Salar de Uyuni that are equipped with full sanitary services and are privately owned.
