Quick Itinerary

Day 1:Cusco, Peru:

Service: Cuzco – Huayllabamba

We will leave the hotel in the direction of the Sacred Valley, which we will cross to get to Ollantaytambo. We will take a moment to visit the surroundings of this town, then go to kilometer 82, where we will start a light walk and acclimatization rhythm, until we reach the first archaeological complex called: Llactapata. From where after, we will continue our walk until we reach Hatunchaca where our first camp will be. Total walking time: 4:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. / Distance covered: 12 km / Start of the walk: 2,750 m.s.n.m. / Final 3,000 m.s.n.m.

Day 2:Cusco, Peru:

Service: Huayllambamba – Pacaymayo

After breakfast, you will start the hike through the Huayllabamba Valley. On the way you can observe the nature and the ecological change of the area, until you reach the place called Yunca Chimpa, in Llulluchapampa (3750 m.s.n.). From this point you can appreciate the valley of Huayanay, before heading to the first pass, Warmiwañusca, also called Dead Woman. It will camp in the sector of Pacaymayo. Total walking time: 7 hours / Distance traveled: 13 km / Start of the trek: 3,000 m.s.n.m. / Final 3800 m.s.n.m.

Day 3:Cusco, Peru:

Service: Pacaymayo – Wiñaywayna

Ascend to the second step called Runkurakay, which is at 3,860 m.s. Unlike the previous days, the walk will be more demanding but very rewarding, since you can visit the small complex of Sayacmarca, as well as appreciate the valleys and snow-capped mountains that surround the area. Then continue to the Phuyupatamarca complex, where you will make a small tour, before descending 3 kilometers to Wiñaywayna. Here you will visit the resort of the same name and will camp at night. Total walking time: 10:00 hours / Distance covered: 15 km / Start of the trek: 3,800 m.s.n.m. / Final: 2,650 m.s.n.m.

Day 4:Cusco, Peru:

Service: Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu - Cuzco

After breakfast, you will leave for the Intipunku sector, also called Puerta de Sol, where you will have a breathtaking view of the lost city of Machu Picchu. You will visit the citadel accompanied by a guide, who will explain the history and structure of this wonderful place. Finally, you will take the buses to the station and return by Expedition train to Cuzco. Total walking time: 2:15 hours / Distance traveled: 6 km / Start of the trek: 2,650 m.s.n.m. / Final: 2,400 m.s.n.m.
